The trend of green and clean production is inevitable

At the seminar: "Green Production and Distribution - Solutions for Sustainable Economic Development" organized by Industry and Trade Magazine on August 30, Mr Cu Huy Quang, Deputy Chief of the Office of Sustainable Production and Consumption (Ministry of Industry and Trade), commented that awareness of sustainable production and consumption as well as green distribution will help businesses access world trends, especially areas with high standards. Therefore, businesses must recognize and transform green production, sustainable production, green distribution, and sustainable distribution if they want to expand into demanding markets.

Mr. Cu Huy Quang, Deputy Chief of the Office of Sustainable Production and Consumption (Ministry of Industry and Trade): People's awareness of using environmentally friendly products is increasing.

Sharing the same opinion, Mr Nguyen Hoang Huan, Deputy Director of Vinacomin Informatics, Technology and Environment Joint Stock Company (VITE), said: "The trend of green and clean production is inevitable. Therefore, it is natural that it affects businesses. Here, it will affect both active and passive forms. Being proactive is the green and clean production now cannot simply be a stage in a product chain, but a process of formation right from the beginning to the implementation and the end of the project."

Regarding the negative impact, Mr Nguyen Hoang Huan analyzed that in implementing greener and cleaner production, enterprises in general and coal-producing enterprises, particularly, can access modern technology and methods of exploitation and processing to improve production efficiency as well as save energy and thereby contribute to better environmental protection.

Regarding how green consumption trends affect consumers' habits, said Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hung, Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, MM Mega Market Vietnam, today's users, especially young consumers, are very active in looking for products or services that protect the environment.

"It is not difficult to see familiar images of young people taking the initiative when shopping. They say: I don't take plastic bags because I already have a shopping bag or they actively choose better products for them. Health, better for the environment. For example, I don't use styrofoam boxes, I want to buy sticky rice with bagasse, I want yoghurt with less sugar... or they will actively choose brands that are more socially responsible," said Ms Nguyen Thi My Hung information.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My Hung: "Green consumption trends are the driving force to help businesses change and improve products and services in a green and sustainable direction."

According to Ms Hung, the green consumption trend is getting stronger and stronger and affecting businesses, forcing businesses to change how to make their products and services meet people's needs.

As for businesses, if there are improvements in products and services, more environmentally friendly, new solutions and effective ways to convey messages and meanings to consumers, consumers will also change choices and change consumer behaviour. There is a two-way impact between consumers and businesses.

Promote recycling models in industrial parks

Talking about the difficulties when converting to green production, Mr Cu Huy Quang said that the first difficulty is choosing a model suitable for the production scale of the enterprise, or in other words, choosing technology appropriate to the development scale of the business.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Huan: The greener and cleaner production trend affects businesses in both active and passive directions.

Next is the difficulty of investment capital. This is one of the great challenges for businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises with low investment capital. It is difficult for businesses to access preferential loans as well as low-interest rates.

The third difficulty is that the government's policies on supporting businesses in the transition to green production are still limited. These are the difficulties businesses transitioning to sustainable and green production face in their transition.

As an advisory body for leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to implement activities in sustainable production and consumption, Mr Cu Huy Quang said that he would advise on building standards in the coming time. on circular economic models, on material consumption norms in industries; apply the circular economy model to industrial parks and export processing zones. At the same time, promote the application of recycling, re-collection and reuse models in industries, especially in industries with much potential for recycling today.

In addition, improving management capacity for localities to promote the transition of sustainable production and sustainable consumption in localities. In addition, more attention will be paid to communication to improve the thinking and consciousness of the business community and to change consumer behaviour in choosing green, clean and healthy products. Friendly products with the environment.
