According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, Vietnam’s total export turnover in the first half of June 2018 reached US$ 9.51 billion, decreasing by 14.4% (equivalent to US$ 1.6% billion) compared to the second half of May. As of 15th June, Vietnam’s total export turnover reached US$ 103.79 billion, increasing by 16.6% (equivalent to US$ 14.81 billion) compared to the same period in 2017.
Of which, export turnover of foreign direct investment enterprises (FDI) in the first half of June reached US$ 6.39 billion, decreasing by 15.8% (equivalent to US$ 1.2 billion) compared to the second half of May. As of 15th June, FDI’s total export turnover reached US$ 72.71 billion, increasing by 15.7% (equivalent to US$ 9.86 billion) compared to the same period in 2017 and accounting for 70.1% of total export turnover of the country.
Notably, from the beginning of the year to now, the 10 major export commodity groups have maintained quite a good growth. Of which, export turnover of phones and accessories is the largest with US$ 20.73 billion, increasing by 10.1% compared to the same period in 2017.
According to the reporter, as of 15th June , the rank of some major commodity groups in the Top 10 have certain fluctuations.
Machinery and equipment was ranked fourth with turnover of US$ 7.13 billion, while export turnover of footwear was US$ 6.98 billion. Meanwhile, at the same period in 2017, export turnover of footwear was US$ 6.36 billion and machinery was only US$ 5.43 billion.

Transport means and spare parts was ranked sixth with export turnover of US$ 3.73 billion (at the same period in 2017, the export turnover reached US$ 3.03 billion). Export turnover of fishery products reached US$ 3.57 billion (the same period in 2017, export turnover was US$ 3.16 billion).
In addition, iron and steel items with export turnover of US$ 1.89 billion was ranked ninth and video cameras and parts was ranked tenth with turnover of US$ 1.87 billion. At the same period in 2017, export turnover of these two commodity groups was US$ 1.19 billion and US$ 1.36 billion respectively.
