Enterprises take the initiative in raw materials for production and export at the end of the year

Enterprises develop new products
In 2020, the market facedmany adverse impacts. Although the pandemichas been controlled, the storms and floodscausing heavy damage in the central provinces will greatly affect the purchasing power at the end of the year.
This year's Tet market is forecast to be less active than in previous years.
Therefore, to stimulate consumption, enterprises must prepare raw materials, plan production early to actively hold prices, push products to online shopping channels and spend more on promotional discounts.
According to experts, the application of science and technology in production brings significant competitive advantages to enterprises such as increasing output, quality and increasing synchronization to catch the advantages that the technology revolution as well as commercial agreements bring. |
In order to meet the needs of consumers in the upcoming Tet season, Saigon Food Joint Stock Company is preparing goods with an increased output of 35-40% compared to normal months. In particular, focusing on traditional items and cultural features of Saigon Food such as: New Year hot pot, Seafood, gift box of Banh Chung.
In addition, to anticipate the increasing demand at the end of the year, Saigon Food also launched new products to the market such as: Saigon Food Fresh Meals, fresh and nutritious porridge, concentrated broth with two new flavors, increased weight combined with an improved recipe.
The end of the year is the peak month for pork consumption, so Vietnam Livestock Industry Joint Stock Company (VISSAN) is preparing a plentifuland stable supply of pork to serve consumers. In the month before the New Year 2021,according to the plan, the unit will supply to the market twice the number of pigs per day compared to normal days of 650-700 pigs per day.
In addition to taking theinitiative in raw materials for production to meet the increasing demand for goods during the Tet holiday, the company willalso focus on developing new products to attract customers' attention. A representative of a seafood production company in Ho Chi Minh City said thatthe company had to constantly send staff to the fishing ports in the Central region and the North to gather goods for many months, even some fish materials only bought domesticallybefore, but now they also have to import because some distributors have plans to increase orders for Tet and process additional private label products.Besides, the company also actively researches and brings new products to the domestic market.
As noted, Vinamit Joint Stock Company, in addition to actively developing online sales collaborators, is also preparing for the launch of a number of nutritional beverage products from vegetables and fruits. This is a 100% new product line, customers just need to open the lid to drink and do not need to mix some types such as coffee, sugarcane juice and vegetable juice, or dried fruit as before.
Export acceleration
Along with the production of goods for the domestic market, enterprises are trying hard to find ways to boost export activities after the pandemicis controlled. From mid-September, nearly all enterprises in the textile, footwear, and ceramics industries began to receive new orders from European, American, and Japanese partners.
According to the enterprisesthe order situation has recovered by about 60-70%. Mr. Ly Ngoc Bach, Chairman of Binh Duong Ceramics Association, did not hide his joy when saying the year-end situation of the ceramics industry was very positive with many orders. All enterprises organize production and overtime to meet the requirements of partners.
Mr. Dien Quang Hiep, Chairman of the Binh Duong Wood Processing Association (BIFA), said that in parallel with online sales, some manufacturing enterprises try to change the structure of products. The breakdown of supply chains, including the supply chains that import wood products from abroad, especially from China, has created a gap for these products in the domestic market. To restore production, enterprises restructure their product lines according to the needs of both international and domestic markets. For example, kitchen, bathroom and vanity furniture group currently account for about 60% of the total demand of all types of furniture worldwide. This is a strategic product line that can be exploited in the future.
As for the food processing sector, the situation is much brighter after the pandemic. Mr. Nguyen Lam Vien, Chairman of Vinamit's Board of Directors, said that the export orders to traditional markets of Vinamitwere still planned forthe six last months. SinceJune, Vinamit had exported a number of organic fruit shipments including grapefruit and jackfruit to Europe by air. Besides, in the future, Vinamitwould launch new products, focus on developing European markets, as well as expanding raw material growing areas towards organic products, ensuring sustainable Vietnamese agricultural exports.
