Illegal money export seized by Dong Thap customs.

At the border guard checkpoint at Thong Binh border gate (Thong Binh commune, Tan Hong district, Dong Thap), the Customs and Border forces inspected a man who drove a motorbike to apply for exit procedures from Vietnam to Cambodia.

However, when the man took the motorbike through the barrier, he got on the motorbike to speed toward Cambodia. Suspecting him of carrying smuggled goods, Dinh Ba border gate customs branch coordinated with the Border Guard to request the man to stop the vehicle for inspection.

Through inspection, VND 359 million with denominations of VND 500,000 and 200,000 were hidden under the motorbike’s saddle and were not declared and did not have legal proof.

The man claimed the name Ron Hay and that he received the money from a man named Hung in Long An to Cambodia to buy cows. However, when he exited the border gate, he did not carry out the procedures and declare to the Customs office as prescribed.
