Disclose information on price management to create consensus

According to the Ministry of Finance, under the provisions of the Price Law, price management will comply with the market mechanism; respect the rights of self-price determination and competition on prices of organizations and individuals engaged in production and business activities. When prices of some goods and services have abnormal fluctuations, affecting price levels and socio-economic life, the State will take measures to stabilize prices.Voters in Dak Lak province stated that the price of supplies, electricity and petrol has increased; on the contrary, the price of many agricultural products has decreased, making people’s lives difficult. Therefore, policies to stabilize prices of fertilizer, electricity and petrol to reduce difficulties for people were proposed.
In 2019, the National Assembly has set the target of the growth rate of annual average consumer price of about 4 percent. Under the close guidance of the Government, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Price Steering Committee, ministries, sectors and localities have been proactive in price management and control, promptly deployed appropriate measures to stabilize the market, especially in the holidays and New Year, as well as periods with fluctuations of essential goods and services.
In addition, forecasting work continues to be focused, advising the Government on appropriate price management scenarios.
Ministries have actively worked with other ministries and sectors to prepare comprehensive reports and introduce timely and appropriate solutions to stabilize market prices and control inflation, especially in organizing the implementation of conclusions of the Deputy Prime Minister, Head of Price Steering Committee in forecasting and developing price management scenarios for short-term periods as well as for the whole of 2019.
Communication is focused, creating consensus and strengthening trust in society for the direction and administration of the Government, contributing to controlling expected inflations.
For essential key goods and services, in 2019, the Ministry of Finance cooperated with other ministries and sectors to implement price management and actively introduce appropriate measures to stabilize prices.
To enhance price management, the Ministry of Finance has acknowledged the recommendations of National Assembly deputies and voters. The Ministry will continue to coordinate with other ministries, sectors, localities and enterprises to take measures to strengthen control of markets and prices.
In particular, consistently implementing the principle of price management according to market mechanisms regulated by the state; promptly proposing measures to stabilize the market, ensuring inflation control, calculating the level and time to adjust prices of goods managed by the State appropriately and helping to control the common price level.

The Ministry of Finance said that it is necessary to continue disclosing information about prices and price management to create consensus and supervision from public; strengthen the management and inspection of the observance of legal provisions on prices and strictly handle violations according to law provisions.
