China welcomes Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong with 21-gun salute

An official welcome ceremony hosted by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping with full honours for Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was held on January 12 at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

A 21-gun salute is accorded to the Party leader and other Vietnam high-ranking officials at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The two leaders inspect the guard of honour.

Children welcome the Party chief and other Vietnamese officials.

President Xi Jinping warmly welcomes Mr Trong on his visit to China.

High-ranking officials of both sides greet each other.

Following the welcome ceremony, the two leaders held talks on how to strengthen bilateral relationship between the two Parties and countries in the coming time.
