Medical masks gathered near the border

Customs authorities blocked many acts of smuggling medical masks to Cambodia.In the domestic market, authorities discovered many cases of gathering close to the border area, with the intention of waiting for an opportunity to illegally transport across the border.

On the morning of March 28, Market Management Team No. 1, An Giang Department of Quality Control inspected the boxes that were placed along the road (located in Chau Phu B ward, Chau Doc city), found 22,500 masks withunknown origin.

This is a four-layer antibacterial mask, with the date of manufacture recorded as 1stApril, 2020 and expiry date of1st April, 2023. The place of production printed on the packaging of this mask is C.Company Limited (address in Hoa Lan 1 Quarter, Thuan Giao Ward, Thuan An City, Binh Duong Province).

At the time of inspection, the masks above hadno invoice documents and no owners. The Market Management Team 1 has made a record of temporarily seizing the above goods and finding the owner to handle in accordance with the law.

Previously, on March 25, the inspection team of the Market Management Team No. 4 conducted a search according to administrative procedures that are goods in eight boxesgathered at the area of ​​N1, Hoa Binh hamlet, Vinh Mỹ ward, Chau Doc City. As a result, they found 12,500 medical masks; 720 sets of Koné Facial Cream and skin whiteners made in Thailand; 120 boxes of Berina A1 brand 60g hair dyes manufactured inThailand. All goods are unclaimed and there are no receipts and documents attached.

Not only detecting small gatherings, An Giang authorities also discovered large sets of face masks. Typically, on the night of March 24, the Market Management Team 1 coordinated with the Steering Committee of 389 Chau Doc City, the 2nd Market Management Team 2 to seizea huge amountof masks in the area near the border.

Accordingly, when inspecting a truck with plate 43C-146.31 parked in the area of Vinh Te canal in Vinh Khanh 1 hamlet, Vinh Te commune, Chau Doc city, An Giang province, the task force detected over 207,000 medical masks.

On questioning, Vo Anh Cuong, born in 1985 (resident in Tien My commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province) was the driver of the vehicle to present four value-added invoices and three submissions (with the goods).

However, the Market Management Team checked that the above invoices and documents do not match the number of goods on the vehicle. The inspection team temporarily seized all material evidence for handling.

Concerned about epidemics from smuggled goods

Not only medical masks, during the peak of disease prevention, An Giang authorities discovered many cases of gathering smuggled goods at many locations at night and were very worried about the disease outbreak from these packages are not inspected and sterilized according to regulations.

Recently, at 11:45 am on March 24, 2020, the inspection team of the CG Team No. 4 conducted an inspection of the objects according to the administrative procedure that goods inside threeboxes were gathered at the marginal area of Dong Da Street, Hamlet 5, Chau Phu A Ward, Chau Doc City, An Giang Province.

As a result, the inspection team found 720 sets of Koné Facial Cream and skin whitening brand made by Thailand, no one acknowledged and no voucher attached. The Market Management Team 4 holds the above goods temporarily for clarification and handling according to law provisions.

It is worth noting that most cases of gathering smuggled goods do not detect the owner, because the subjects took advantage of the night, gathered goods in deserted areas, sent guards, but when detected the functional forces, they immediately ran away.

Recently, according to public sources, a large number of smuggled used electronic goods are gathered in the area of ​​the banks of VinhTe canal, in Tan Bien hamlet, An Nong commune, Tinh Bien district, An Giang province, the inspection team of the Market Management Team 2 coordinate with Working Group 389 of Tinh Bien district, An Giang province to search objects according to administrative procedures.

Through inspection, the working group detected 19 hot and cold air conditioners of all kinds. The value of goods is about VND57 million. During the inspection, no one came to receive the shipment, the inspection team shall make a record of temporary seizure and garnishment of all the aforementioned goods to the headquarters of the Market Management Team 2 to continue verifying, clarifying and handling according to regulations.
