34th COVID-19 infection case returns from US

The Ministry of Health confirmed the nation’s 34th case of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection on March 10 with the latest patient being a 51-year old Vietnamese citizen who was returning to the country from the United States.

The patient had originally flown to New York from Vietnam on February 22, transiting at Incheon Airport in the Republic of Korea during the journey.

Following this, the patient flew from Washington to Vietnam on February 29, transiting at Doha Airport in Qatar before entering the country at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 2.

The morning of March 9 saw the patient admitted to Binh Thuan General Hospital and put into isolation in order to undergo treatment with the test results coming back positive for the COVID-19.

At present, there have been 34 COVID-19 cases recorded in the nation, of which 16 patients have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals, while the remaining 18 cases have been put into quarantine to undergo treatment.
