22 tons of contraband rice seized in Cao Bang province

VCN - The rice was exported illegally to China through the border area of Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province.

22 tons of contraband rice was seized by functional forces.

On 5^th October, 2016 The Customs Enforcement Team (Cao Bang Customs Department) in coordination with the Border Control Station Ban Gioc Waterfall (Border Guards Cao Bang province) detected and arrested 1 tractor truck which was carrying 22 tonnes of rice, origin from Vietnam, seeking to illegally export to China. That shipment belonged to 4 freight owners located in Cao Bang and Tuyen Quang province.

Functional forces made violation records and temporarily seized the rice for further investigation and to complete treatment records.

Team leader of the Customs Enforcement Team (Cao Bang Customs Department) Nguyen Duy Thu said that: “this was the first case of illegally exporting rice in the areas under Customs forces, detected in 2016.
