VCN – On December, at Moc Bai international border gate area, the Customs and Border Guard forces seized 11kg of firecrackers transported in a tractor-trailer from Cambodia to Vietnam.

11kg of smuggled firecrackers and fireworks seized

Smuggled firecrackers seized by competent forces at Moc Bai Border Gate on December 29.

On December 29, the competent forces of Customs, Border Guard and Police in Tay Ninh province detected a tractor-trailer driven by Phan Van Quy, 27, residing in Binh Dinh province with suspicious signs and requested him to stop for inspection.

Smuggled firecrackers are hidden inside the tractor-trailer.

Through the inspection, the competent agencies detected 20 packages of firecrackers and two boxes of fireworks with a total weight of 11kg hidden in bags under the vehicle.

Bags of firecrackers are transported from Cambodia to Vietnam.

According to the initial declaration, all goods were purchased by Phan Van Quy in Cambodia and shipped to Vietnam for use in the New Year 2022.

Moc Bai Border Gate Customs Branch arrested the suspect and transferred the case to the Police authority of Tay Ninh province for further investigation.
