She was speaking in response to reporters’ questions about the Czech Republic’s decision to suspend the acceptance of work visa applications by Vietnamese nationals at the Foreign Ministry’s regular press conference on August 2.
Both nations have maintained fruitful all-around cooperation, Hang said while hoping that their coordination in this work will facilitate boosting bilateral cooperation across multiple fields in line with the two countries’ traditional friendship.
According to numerous media sources on July 18, the government of the Czech Republic has suspended the long-term work visa application by Vietnamese nationals for their employment and business purposes. Vietnamese have been recognized as a minority community in the Czech Republic since 2013 and are the third largest in the European nation behind Ukraine and Slovakia.
Regarding the recent US-China trade friction, the spokesperson said Vietnam regards trade disputes as issues that must be addressed through negotiations and dialogues, based on international law and regulations for the legitimate rights of parties for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The US-China trade war is on the brink of escalation as President Donald Trump’s administration is destined to raise import tariffs by 10% on Chinese goods worth US$ 200 billion, which is most likely to come into force as of September 2018. The Ministry of Commerce of China has retaliated the US with its own counter measures.
In June, the US and China announced their imposition of 25% tariffs on US$50 billion worth of one another’s imports.
