Vietnam, Japan cooperate in e-government building
The MoU demonstrates Vietnam's constant efforts and strong commitment to developing e-government with the support from Japan.
Under the MoU, both sides will exchange experience in building legal frameworks and institutions, improving the capacity of IT managers and workers of the e-government.
They agreed to consider stepping up collaboration through the exchange of experts and the organization of workshops.
Masatoshi Ishida showed his elation at comprehensive Vietnam- Japan cooperation in a wide range of fields, while believing that there is plenty of room for both sides to push ahead with broader cooperation towards deepening extensive strategic partnership in the future.
Meeting with Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga as part of his trip to Japan from August 5-7, Dung said the Vietnamese delegation desires to learn from the host country’s experience in administrative reform and e-Government building towards a digital Government, economy and society.
He asked the Japanese official be attentive to augmenting cooperation between the Vietnamese Government Office and its Japanese counterpart, intensify all-level delegation exchanges, and continue to help Vietnam with reform efforts.
Suda expressed a desire to cooperate with the Vietnamese Government Office across a variety of fields to further strengthen the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership.
Japan will ponder over the Vietnamese Government Office’s proposal for Japan’s non-refundable aid regarding the technical package in e-Government building, he said.
During his stay in Japan, Dung also met with Secretary-General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Toshihiro Nikai, who is also Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance.
He thanked members of the alliance for their positive contributions to Vietnam’s development as well as the Vietnam-Japan relationship.
Nikai pledged to make greater contributions to the bilateral ties and showed his wish for increased exchanges between the LDP and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
On this occasion, Dung met with Japan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Toshiko Abe, during which Dung suggested bolstering bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, investment, administrative reform and strategic official training.
Abe affirmed Japan’s readiness to provide technical assistance for Vietnam and partner with the Vietnamese Government in e-Government building.
At a meeting with Shinichi Kitaoka, who is President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Dung reiterated the Vietnamese Government’s stance of fully carrying out commitments to official development assistance (ODA) projects between the two nations for mutual benefits.
He urged the JICA to further support the Vietnamese Government Office in its administrative reform, e-Government building and personnel training.
Japan is keen to foster the friendship with Vietnam in multitude of fields, adding that Vietnam is a big source of guest workers to Japan, he added.
