The building of the strategic personnel planning is to prepare workforce for the personnel work at the 13th National Party Congress, aiming to set up a contingent of strategic officials who have sufficient virtue, capacity and prestige to successfully lead the cause of national construction and defence in the new situation, he said.

The officials must have knowledge of different fields, especially basic political theory, the leader said, stressing the need to pay more attention to training those who have knowledge of Party building and law, along with outstanding intellectuals and prestigious scientists.

He shared other opinions raised at the meeting that the planning should be conducted step by step, with regular reviews.

At the meeting, representatives of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission announced decisions of the Politburo and Secretariat on the establishment of a steering board for the building of the strategic personnel planning for the 2021-2026 tenure and its assistant group.

Accordingly, the steering board comprises six members led by Party General Secretary and President Trong, while its 12-member assistant group is led by Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of the CPVCC and head of the CPVCC’s Organisation Commission.

Party General Secretary and President Trong underlined the important role of the steering board as well as its assistant group, and asked them to raise the sense of justice in the work.

In November, all-level Party committees and organisations, localities and agencies are scheduled to begin introducing personnel to the planning for the 13th Party Central Committee.
