Attending the welcoming ceremony included Vietnamese representatives of the municipal Department of External Relations, the High Command of the Naval Zone 3, the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Defence, the High Command of the Vietnam People's Navy, the Military Zone 5 High Command, the municipal Border Guard Command, and other relevant agencies.

The Indian side encompassed Colonel Paranvir Singh Punia, Indian Defense Attaché, Rear Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, and the ships’ commanders.

During their five-day visit, Indian naval officers and sailors will pay a courtesy visit to leaders of the city People’s Committee and the High Command of the Naval Zone 3.

They will play a series of friendly volley-ball matches with Vietnamese naval forces of the Naval Zone 3 and students of Da Nang University, while also visiting tourism attractions such as My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An ancient town, and taking part in a trumpet performance at Bien Dong (East Sea) Park.

The navies of the two countries will also carry out a bilateral maritime exercise.

The visit aims to foster the friendly cooperation, and deepen mutual understanding, and trust between the two armies and navies, as well as the fine traditional friendship between the two countries.
