Recently, local tax authorities in the whole country are not able to conduct face-to-face dialogue with taxpayers due to the complex development of the pandemic. Therefore, to adapt to the new situation, the communication tasks for solving difficulties and problems in tax and tax administrative procedures have been changed to online that are presented on the website of the General Department of Taxation as well as the tax departments.

Recently, the General Department of Taxation has issued a document directing tax departments across the country to increase the application of information technology, diversified forms of dissemination and communication to support and facilitate taxpayers in law compliance of tax and enjoy tax support of the State, as well as ensure the effective prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The General Department of Taxation requested that tax authorities at all levels strengthen communication and support for taxpayers online. For example, focusing on guiding taxpayers to use the system of 479 online support channels (question and answer service on eTAX); proactively sending new documents and guidance documents via taxpayers’ email; using social networks such as Facebook, Youtube, Zalo to guide taxpayers; coordinate with press agencies, radio stations and television stations to deploy communication and support programs for taxpayers in management localities.

During the pandemic, the General Department of Taxation also suggested that tax departments should continue to organize online dialogues, supporting taxpayers through the website of the Tax Department.

To implement the online dialogue and support program effectively, the Tax Department needs to choose topics and content that closely follow the needs of taxpayers in the management area and widely disseminate the program to taxpayers.
