Delegates elected Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Commission of Internal Affairs, and Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, as members of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and Head of the Inspection Commission, read a Politburo proposal on disciplining Nguyen Xuan Anh. The meeting agreed to dismiss Anh from his posts as Secretary of Da Nang municipal Party Committee and member of the Party Central Committee.

Later the same day, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan chaired the meeting discussing projects on public health and population work in the new period.
