The 2019 Business Night took place at the Hanoi Opera House on October 11 hosted by the Hanoi Small and Medium Sized Enterprises Association as part of a range of activities being held in the lead up to Vietnam Entrepreneur Day on October 13

Notable attendees at the event include former National Assembly chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, in addition to over 500 businesspeople.

In his speech, Chairman Duc Chung acknowledges the significant contribution made by the Hanoi business community, most notably Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises.

Chairman Duc Chung presents certificates of merit to inpiduals and groups who have made notable contributions to the business community. During the Business Night event, organisers honour over 100 businesses which have enjoyed a strong performance during 2019. In addition to this, it is noted that the Hanoi business community also raised approximately VND2.4 billion to assist poor people from across the country.

At present, Hanoi is home to 274,000 businesses and ranks second nationwide in terms of quantity of businesses. In September alone, the capital city welcomed 20,500 newly-established enterorises, up 9 per cent on-year.
