Official welcoming ceremony for Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is on a two-day visit to Vietnam from November 18-19 at the invitation of PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
The visit takes place in the context when both countries celebrate the Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam during 2019-2020, the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on fundamental principles of Vietnam – Russia friendship in 2019 and the 70th founding anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties in 2020. PM Phuc and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev hold talks after the welcome ceremony.
Vietnam and Russia continue stepping up bilateral ties in multiple fields such as politics, economy-trade, national defence-security, science-technology, education-training, culture-tourism, and locality-to-locality exchange.
Both countries strictly co-ordinate and provide mutual support at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, APEC, ARF, ASEM under the cooperation framework between ASEAN and Russia.
The two PMs co-chair a joint press conference announcing the results of the talks between the two countries.
