NA Standing Committee opens 56th meeting

The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) convened its 56th meeting on Thursday morning chaired by Speaker Vương Đình Huệ.

The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC) convened its 56th meeting on Thursday morning chaired by Speaker Vương Đình Huệ.

Opening the first meeting, Huệ, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Election Council (NEC), said the Standing Committee will discuss several issues, including giving feedback on the NEC’s preliminary report and contributing ideas to the 2019 State budget balance report, the 2019 State finance report as well as the Government report on thrift practice and wastefulness prevention in 2020.

For the report on the outcomes of the elections of deputies to the 15th NA and People’s Councils for the 2021-26 tenure, the NA chairman asked the NACS members to give an overview of the results of the election and opinions on the contents that need to be further implemented.

He also asked the members to evaluate the 2019 State budget balance report for approval.

The NA Chairman Huệ said issues related to finance and budget should be considered in accordance with the provisions of law.

At the meeting, NACS members will also contribute opinions on the implementation of the targets in the State budget estimate and discuss the shortcomings, limitations, weaknesses and inadequate compliance with provisions of the law on the State budget estimates and final accounts as well as related issues. — VNS
