MoIT leading in administrative procedure simplification
It has removed 402 or 57.3% of the 702 goods from the list, the report said. The ministry is followed by the Ministry of Information and Communications (89), the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (33), and the Ministry of Science and Technology (22).
As of August 2018, ministries had simplified procedures relating to 606 or just 6.5% of the 9,339 commodities. The MoIT and the communications ministry are also the best performers in this work.
Another 832 categories of goods still need to be removed, but there haven’t been detailed documents on this issue.
In general, the rate of goods excluded from the list subject to specialised examination is only 15.1%, still low compared to the set target, the working group said.
Meanwhile, four ministries have officially cut 900 of the 5,905 business conditions, the group said, adding that the MoIT also ranks first in this regard with 675 or 55.5% of its 1,216 conditions cut. The Ministry of Construction is in the second place with 183 of the 215.
By August, more than 2,360 business conditions, or 40% of the total, had been planned to be reduced but relevant ministries hadn’t regulated on this work.
Earlier this year, the Prime Minister requested ministries and sectors to submit plans on how to cut down or streamline 50% of their business conditions by August 15. Administrative reforms are viewed as a key measure to boost growth.
