Grand meeting marks birthday of President Ho Chi Minh
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong lead a delegation of Party and State leaders to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at 7:30 am on May 18 ahead of the start of the grand meeting.
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan stand alongside many of the nation’s top leaders as they prepare for the grand meeting to get underway.
The occasion draws the participation of approximately 2,000 delegates who take part in a national flag saluting ceremony, witness an art programme, as well as enjoy speeches delivered by Party and State leaders, contemporaries, and young people.

Party General Secretary and State President Trong delivers a speech in order to mark the opening of the event at 9am on May 18. The contents of his speech contain deep gratitude for the merits of Uncle Ho, the country’s great leader who successfully fought for the cause of Vietnamese independence and eventual reunification.
The Party leader calls for inpiduals to take on greater responsibility as a way of building a stronger Party.
The grand meeting to celebrate the birth of President Ho Chi Minh features a special art programme.
A series of famous songs are performed during the art programme as a means of showing the nation’s deep love and respect towards President Ho Chi Minh
