According to the latest information from the General Department of Customs, by mid-September, the total value of fruit&vegetableproducts exported from Vietnam was $US 1.68 billion, increased nearly 28% compared to the same period in2015.

With this result, this item has overtaken rice to become the 3rd major agricultural export item of Vietnam (behind coffee with a value of $US 2.371 billion and cashew nutwith$US1,891 billion).

Notably, in the list of major agricultural export items of Vietnam, fruit&vegetableproducts also have the fastest growth rate, because coffee increased by only22% and cashew nutsby13.6% compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, rice decreased nearly 14% in value compared to the same period last year.

Currently, fruit&vegetablesof Vietnam are present in most of our important export markets such as: UK, USA, Netherlands, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, etc.

In particular, China is still the largest fruit&vegetableexport market of Vietnam with the total turnover worth nearly $US 1.1 billion (market data updated at the end of August by the General Department of Customs), accounting for about 70% of total fruits & veggie export turnover of Vietnam in the same period.

Other major markets are Canada ($US 112 million), South Korea ($US 59 million), the United States ($US 54 million), etc.

Relating to the agricultural export sector, some other key products can be listed as: Peppercornswith the value of$US 1,144 billion; rubber $US 987 million; cassava and related products nearly $US 720 million.
