Decree on automobile business conditions still in waiting period

At the Government’s regular press conference for August on August 30, 2017, responding to the press on the above issue, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that this is a matter of concern to enterprises, but the Decree is relatively long and involves benefits of many entities, so it take time for approval.
Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai said that the Decree regulating the operation of automobile manufacturing and assembling enterprises and warranty and maintenance centres, so the Government has assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to chair and collaborate with the Ministry of Transportation to implement.
In terms of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry has studied and consulted each enterprises in automobile industry and some related fields to ensure the equality and benefits of enterprises and consumers.
“The Ministry of Industry and Trade has submitted to the Government in a timely fashion, has explained and amended the draft to put the Decree into reality. The Ministry hopes that the Government shall promptly sign the issuing decision”, Mr. Hai said.
Earlier, the draft Decree stipulating conditions for automobile manufacture, assembly, imports and business in automobile warranty and maintenance has proposed fundamental conditions for enterprises to ensure their responsibility for products and safety of consumers as well as for environment.

Thereby, encouraging domestic manufacturing and assembling enterprises – especially enterprises which have long-term and methodical operation and have responsibility to consumers or enterprises which have long-term investment plan and increase productivity to reach the target of raising the localization rate towards exports in the context where Free Trade Agreements shall take effect in the coming time.
