Day one of Party chief Trong’s visit to Russia
Party leader Trong and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived at Vnukovo 2 airport in Moscow at noon on September 5, starting their official visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov welcomes the Party chief and Vietnamese delegation at the airport.
Those present to welcome the Vietnamese Party leader include Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh, ambassadors of ASEAN countries and Vietnamese residents in Russia.
A welcoming ceremony for Party General Secretary Trong and the Vietnamese delegation took place upon their arrival at Vnukovo 2 airport in Moscow at noon on September 5.
The visit aims to deepen the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation.

Representatives of the Vietnamese community
and students in Russia greet Mr Trong at the airport.
Mr Trong meets with Russian Prime Minister and Chairman of the United Russia party, Dmitry Medvedev.
The two leaders speak highly of the quality and dynamism of bilateral cooperation in a wide range of fields, from politics, diplomacy, economics, security and national defence to culture, health care, science-technology, education-training and law-justice as well as between their localities.
Later the same day, the Party General Secretary visits the Vietnamese Embassy, where he talks to overseas Vietnamese about Vietnam-Russia ties.
Earlier, General Secretary Trong and his entourage lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in memory of the heroes who fell in the Great Patriotic War and pay floral tribute to the leader of the world’s working class and workers’ movement, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, at his mausoleum.
