On December 3, the Customs Enforcement Team coordinated with Zone 1 Sai Gon Seaport Customs Branch and the Investigation Police Department for corruption, economy and smuggling crimes (PC03) under HCM City Police to inspect the shipment under the customs declaration dated December 1 of Hoang Mai Global Co., Ltd.

This shipment is declared by the company as Sigle-sided Plastic Adhesive Tape, in rolls, Vietnamese origin, quantity: 11,910kg, worth over VND608 million.

However, upon a physical inspection of the goods, the working team discovered that the company hid 810 cigarette cartons inside the shipment.

The Team discovered that there were 405,000 packs of ESSE cigarettes with an estimated value of about VND10.5 billion.

There is a control label issued by Cambodian customs on the carton packaging. The team suspects that the goods originate from Cambodia.

Currently, the case is under investigation.
