Total import and export turnover in the first half of 2021 is estimated at US$72.6 billion, a gain of 31.6% year-on-year. Import turnover is set to reach US$28.5%, up 6.4%; import turnover is estimated at US$44.1billion, rising 55.6% compared to the previous year, HCM City Customs Department reported.
Notably, the turnover of some commodity groups sharply increased compared to the same period of 2020 such as cars up 122%, iron and steel rise 92.7%, CBU motorcycles rising 65.2%, gasoline and diesel increased by 195%, computers and accessories increased by 14%, resulting in an increase in State budget revenue of HCM City Customs Department by approximately 25% year-on-year.
As of June 10, HCM City Customs Department collected VND54,806 billion, reaching 48.5% of the estimate.
It is expected that by the end of June 30, revenue will hit about VND61,000 billion, meeting 56.5% of the estimate, 54% of the target and rising by 26.5% compared to the same period in 2020.
