After the two keynote speeches by Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump, the APEC CEO Summit 2017 concluded on November 10 with a ceremony to hand over the chairmanship of APEC CEO Summit to Papua New Guinea.

At the closing ceremony after three working days, President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Chair of the APEC CEO Summit 2017 Vu Tien Loc touched upon the issues that were agreed by delegates at this meeting.

“The APEC CEO 2017 Summit was successful. We have had discussions on APEC's future, globalization and growth issues. We agreed that globalization and integration are the most important factors behind development in the coming decades, "Loc said.

Mr. Vu Tien Loc officially handed over the chairmanship of APEC CEO Summit 2018 to Papua New Guinea.

Minister Responsible for APEC Justin Tkatchenko congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the APEC CEO Summit 2017 and said his nation welcomes delegates to Papua New Guinea in 2018.

Papua New Guinea is set to host the APEC CEO Summit 2018 and the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week next year, he said, while expecting delegates to come to his nation to witness and experience the unique culture and traditions and natural wonders.

The APEC CEO Summit from November 8-10 focused on new trends of globalization, technological revolution, business linkage, dialogues on business and government roles in ensuring healthy and well-trained labors, promoting the dynamism and creativity of the business community to seize new opportunities in the region, boosting economic cooperation and realizing the potential of trade and investment presented by APEC.

Delegates said technology is a factor that will continue to be mentioned in the region's overall economic picture for many years to come as it affects employment as well as the size of each economy and regional trade connectivity.

In addition, top business leaders shared the perception towards green growth, in other words, promoting economic growth without harming the environment.
