Specifically, the total import-export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products wasestimated at nearly US$46 billion.

Of which, the export turnover is estimated at US$26.1 billion, a 0.9% year-on- year decrease. The export turnover of major agricultural products is estimated at US$12 billion, declining by 3.2%; animal husbandry is estimated at 25.0%, fishery products is estimated at 5.3%; forestry product is estimated at more than US$7.8 billion, increasing by 10.3%.

In the first 8 months, the total import turnover is estimated at US$19.9 billion, a 2.5% year-on-year decline. The import value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products is estimated at US$16 billion, decreasing by 5.2%.

In the last months of the year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has continued to regularly monitor and report price fluctuations, supply and demand situation of some essential agricultural products (pork, rice, vegetables and fruits); monitor developments of animal and poultry diseases, compare with scenarios on food supply to promptly advise the Government.

In addition, regularly updating developments and situations in key markets affected by COVID-19, promptly advise, report and propose solutions; closely monitor the export of agricultural products across border gates with China.

The representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the entire sector will synchronously and drastically implement recommendations by the EU for Vietnam to remove the "yellow card" and perform towards sustainable development of fishery product; focus on directing the implementation of measures to restore production, processing and export of forestry products.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development affirmed that if we try our best and there areno big changes in the world, the export value of agricultural, forestry and fishery products for the whole year will reach more than US$40 billion (US$40-41 billion). The entire sector strives to hit about US$41 billion.
