Out of the five patients, two were treated at the General Hospital of Ninh Thuan province in south-central Vietnam and they recorded three negative tests for the COVID-19.

Dr. Thai Phuong Phien, director of the Ninh Thuan General Hospital, said the hospital has strictly applied treatment guidelines set out by the Ministry of Health, alongside its experience in treating patients with serious illnesses.

Following 15 days of treatment, both patients are no longer displaying symptoms of a fever or of a cough, with their X-ray results indicating the pair are in good health, Phien noted.

The same day, the Cu Chi field hospital in HCM City also released three coronavirus patients who completely recovered from the disease.

It's worth noting that an 11-year-old boy in Hai Duong province, northern Vietnam, was also discharged from hospital on April 1 after testing negative for the virus three times. He is one of the 7 children infected with the coronavirus in Vietnam.

The six cases will now be put into isolation whilst they undergo strict surveillance for the next 14 days, according to health regulations.

As of April 1, Vietnam has confirmed a total of 212 coronavirus cases, of whom 63 have been cured and discharged from hospital.
