Vietnam’s trade surplus $US 2.26 billion

Previously, many press agencies posted information that according to the estimation of some authorities, the Vietnam trade surplus would be $US 1.8 billion to July, but the actual result based on export – import data of the business community announced by the General Customs Department today showed that the value of our country's trade surplus was higher than the estimation, by nearly $US 500 million.
Specifically, by the end of July, the value of export goods in Vietnam was $US 96.99 billion, up 5.4% from the same period in 2015; while imports reached $US 94.735 billion, down 1.2%.
In both exports and imports, FDI enterprises still dominated. Among them, export turnover of FDI enterprises reached $US 67.599 billion, an increase of 8.4% over the same period in 2015, accounting for nearly 70% of total national exports; imports reached $US 55.536 billion, a decrease of 2.1% over the same period in 2015, accounting for 58.62% of the total value of the total national imports.
The leading export items of the country were still telephones of all types and components with a turnover of $US 19.603 billion, up 14.3% over the same period in 2015.
Meanwhile, although machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts decreased by 6.3%, the total value of these import goods was still the largest, reaching
$US 15.343 billion of import turnover.
