Delegates from two countries attended the training. |
40 representatives of central and local law enforcement agencies from 2 countries including Customs, Border Guard, Environmental Police and Forest Protection of Quang Ninh (Vietnam) and Guangxi (China) attended the training workshop.
The illegal wildlife trade between Vietnam and China, particularly in border areas, directly affected biodiversity and ecosystems in the region.
The across transactional illegal wildlife trade was the remarkable international issue. Organized crime chains used sophisticated and cunning tricks for wildlife trafficking
Therefore, the fight against this crime become a concern not only to Vietnam and China but also to many countries in the world, which required close cooperation among countries.

The training conference aimed to enhance specialized skills for law enforcement officers on the identification of wildlife species and products which were regularly trafficked across the border. This was an opportunity for delegates to share experiences and skills in detecting tricks that were used by perpetrators to hide violations when illegally trafficking wildlife trade across the border between China and Vietnam.
Especially, the representatives also shared typical cases of illegal trafficking wildlife trade as well as requirements of the law on litigation procedures to prosecute and judge these cases. The comments, sharing, and discussion at the workshop contributed to enhancing the cooperation between law enforcement agencies in Vietnam and China.
