Revenue by Hai Phong Customs surpassed the estimate and the desired target in 2019. The figure was up 44.5 percent compared to estimated target or VND 21,135 billion and up VND 5,655 billion compared to the desired target.

Hai Phong was assigned a goal of VND 40,300 billion, while the result was VND 59,758 billion, up VND 19,458 billion or 48 percent compared to assigned target.

According to Hai Phong Customs Department, the above revenue resulted from objective factors such as an increase in turnover of some items with high tax rates and directions of the department’s leaders in synchronously deploying solutions to strengthen administrative reform and custom modernisation.

In recent years, Hai Phong Customs has been considered a leading unit in implementing the Government’s Resolution on improving the business environment, national competiveness, supporting and facilitating the business community, especially in import and export activities. Thereby, Hai Phong Customs Department has attracted more enterprises.

From 2018 till now, Hai Phong Customs has proactively developed Customs - business partnership in a substantive manner by signing commitments and implementing them with more than 15,000 enterprises.

Many commitments have been implemented such as issuing a mechanism to solve problems from department level to branch level; publicising hotline, email, supporting units in checkpoints and the general department’s website; organising regular dialogues and meetings to handle difficulties and problems for the business community during customs procedures, bringing substantive efficiency and being appreciated by the business community.

To date, the relationship between Hai Phong Customs Department and the business community has shifted from “subject of management” into “partnership” in principles of transparency, publicity, law compliance, listening, understanding, sharing, cooperating and accompanying.
