Specifically: The economy continues to develop with a high growth rate which is estimated to increase by 11.1%, exceeding 0.9% compared to the plan (up 10.2%), which is the highest growth rate in the last 6 years and is a high rate compared to other provinces and cities in the Northern key economic region and compared to the national average rate; the quality of economic growth is increasingly improved, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction, increasing the proportion of the service industry.A comprehensive analysis of the socio-economic picture of Quang Ninh province in 2018 shows that Quang Ninh has achieved positive, important, comprehensive results in all fields, completed and surpassed 11/11 major socio-economic indicators.

In particular, the highlight is state budget collection which showed great efforts and exceeded estimates. Domestic revenues rose by 10.3% compared to 2017, accounting for 75.3% of total budget revenue.

In addition, administrative reform, business investment environment, provincial competitiveness index (PCI), Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI), provincial administrative performance index (PAPI) and Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) have been strengthened, creating trust and attracting investors and large economic groups.

Recently, Quang Ninh province has also focused on building and improving transportation networks; improving seaport and border gate infrastructure; investing in facilities and equipment for specialized agencies such as customs, quarantine, etc., to develop trade towards professionalism and removing border export and shifting to border-gate export.

Investing in developing logistics service which is an industry bringing high value in the direction of integrating logistics service with the development of goods production, import and export and domestic trade, associated with development of transport infrastructure and information technology.

Strengthening the attraction of social resources to invest in developing a system of technical facilities for tourism. The province encourages strategic investors such as Vingroup, Sun Group, FLC group, BIM group, Tuan Chau to establish complex tourism service areas, large-scale tourism service projects and high quality shopping and entertainment centers in key areas: Ha Long, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, Van Don, Co To and Mong Cai.
