With the above revenue, Quang Ninh Customs reached 59.15% of its goal assigned by the Ministry of Finance for 2019 (7,000 billion VND), 55.96% of the target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
In April 2019, the amount of budget revenue generated through the province reached 1,162 billion VND (excluding the refunded tax of Petrolimex Quang Ninh); up 33% (corresponding to an increase of 286.5 billion VND) over the previous month; exceeding revenue by 32% (equivalent to 284 billion VND) compared with the plan (878 billion VND).
Thus, at the end of April, Quang Ninh Customs collected 3,850 billion VND, reaching 55% of the goal assigned by the Ministry of Finance's estimate for 2019 (7,000 billion VND), 52% of the target assigned by the General Department of Vietnam Customs (7,400 billion VND); achieved by 44% of the operating target (8,800 billion VND), an increase of 28% (equivalent to an increase of 849 billion VND) over the same period in 2018.
Revenue collected through seaport areas (besides petroleum) reached 2,058.51 billion VND, accounting for 54% of the total revenue of the entire unit.
Revenue collected from petroleum reached 1,435.41 billion VND, accounting for 37.2% of the total revenue of the Department, while revenue collected through land borders reached 337.41 billion VND, accounting for 8.8% of the total revenue of the Department.
On the basis of forecasting the situation and assessing factors affecting revenue collection, Quang Ninh Customs has actively built a plan and organised the implementation of State revenue targets in 2019 according to three scenarios: revenue collected from petroleum, collected via sea and collected through roads.
In particular, the unit has focused on simplifying administrative procedures, focusing on customs procedures to improve convenience and ease in implementing customs procedures and improving quality of client service, thereby facilitating trade activities through the locality. At the same time, it is advising the provincial People's Committee on solutions to increase revenue, especially solutions to boost seaport economy and border trade.
In addition, the unit also effectively implemented the project of electronic tax payment and customs clearance 24/7 in accordance with the schedule of the General Department of Vietnam Customs to achieve over 97% of the total revenue collected from electronic tax; to implement anti-loss measures through prices, quantities, codes and origin of goods; strengthen the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods.
