The Ministry of Transport said that after a year of running pilot program organising self-driving tourist convoys from China to Lang Son which was not effective (there was one group leaving and one group entering) it has not promoted the attraction for this type.

Therefore, the Ministry of Transport requested the People's Committee of Lang Son Province consider and report to the Prime Minister to allow the suspension of the pilot operation of Chinese self-driving tourist convoys to Lang Son.

Previously, Chinese self-driving tourist convoys entered the territory of Dong Dang border economic zone - Lang Son via Huu Nghi (Vietnam) and Huu Nghi Quan (China) international border gates (China).

During the pilot period, Chinese self-driving tourist cars were allowed to enter the territory of Dong Dang - Lang Son border economic zone for visiting, while Vietnamese tourists could drive to Chongzo city and Nanning city of Guangxi (China).

The maximum time for a tour was three days. The size of self-driving tourist cars is at least three cars/convoy, maximum 10 cars/convoy. The total number of self-driving tourist cars entering and circulating in Dong Dang border economic zone (Lang Son) could not exceed 50 cars/day.
