Nam Giang Customs seized nearly 2 tons of Techicai Sitan wood

VCN - On 21/4, Nam Giang Customs Branch (Quang Nam Customs Department) discovered and seized nearly 2 tons of smuggled Techicai Sitan wood originating from Laos.

Exhibits of the case

Mr. Nguyen Hoang, Manager of Nam Giang Customs Branch said that, through collecting information and receiving dossiers in combination with monitoring, Nam Giang Customs Branch suspected a truck entering Vietnam with license plate 37B-00241, transporting and containing smuggled goods.

During the physical inspection, Nam Giang Customs Branch detected Techicai Sitan wood that was hidden inside a secret bunker in the truck.

Nam Giang Customs Branch requested the owner of that truck to transfer to headquarter of Nam Giang Customs for checking carefully and debarking the above Techicai Sitan wood. In total, Nam Giang Customs Branch seized about 1,817 kg of Techicai Sitan wood.
