Customs supervise 305 international flights at Cat Bi airport

Through a discussion with Customs News reporter, representative of Hai Phong port area 3 Customs Branch – state management unit on Customs field at Cat Bi International Airport said that, among 305 flights of entry and exit from countries that have done procedure accounted from the beginning of the year to 15/4, there was 153 flights of entering country and 152 flights of leaving country.
Total passengers on entry and exit into and out of the country are 43,246 turns in that 24,154 turns are foreign passengers.
Currently, Cat Bi International Airport has two international commercial routes to Korea (Hai Phong - Incheon) and Thailand (Hai Phong - Bangkok) with an average frequency of 20 flights per week (10 flight of entry and 10 exit flights).
On average, each flight to Korea has between 170 and 180 passengers, while each flight to Thailand has an average of 100 passengers.
Besides supervising exit and entry flights at Cat Bi international airport, the Customs Branch has also supervised import-export goods through the Vietnam Automated System for Seaport Customs Management (VASSCM) for nearly 300,000 container, bulk cargo and liquid shipments.
Leaders of the Branch added that VASSCM is promoting positive effects in facilitating export and import activities, contributing to improving the state management of customs, reducing the workload for customs officials performing customs supervision.
Regarding the budget collection tasks, according to Hai Phong area 3 Customs Branch, from the beginning of the year to 15/4, the unit has collected over 3,516 billion VND, increased by 6.05% over the same period in 2017 and reached 27.82% of the assigned target in 2018.
