Customs actively anti-smuggling at the end of 2016

VCN- The General Department of Customs has issued a document which is sent to the Customs Department of provinces and cities, the Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department to strengthen the prevention and fight against smuggling before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2017.

From early of 2016 until now, the General Department has directed and implemented measures to tackle anti-smuggling and trade fraud. The units achieved positive results thanks to the investigation, direction, prevention and fight against the smuggled cases. These results contributed to ensure political security, social safety and stable prices and protect people’s health and combat loss of tax revenue to the State budget.

Promoting the results achieved, the General Department of Customs requires the Customs Department of provinces and cities to direct units, officers and employees to raise the spirit of vigilance, apply work experience and professional skills in order to detect and handle on time the acts of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the implementation of Customs procedures.

In the key areas, the units need to promote information gathering; build the plan of fighting in order to detect, arrest and strictly treat with the acts of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods and actively prosecute the violation cases as per regulations.

The Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department need to do well as the role of the Permanent Steering Committee 389 of the General Department of Customs and consult the Ministry of Finance and the Government in steering and managing the economy and society in the Lunar New Year 2017.

The Department needs to guide in a timely way the professional operations of Customs inspection for the Customs Departments of provinces and cities and focus on researching the areas of information, transportation route of goods, the incidents, the means of transport, exit, transit, etc.

In the third quarter of 2016, the General Department of Customs has detected and seized a total of 3,824 violations cases; the value of violation goods estimated 47.702 billion vnd and submitted to the State budget 46 billion vnd, and prosecuted 10 criminal cases, 10 cases were transferred to the other agencies to prosecute.
