Collecting nearly US $ 170 million from mobile phones exports in 7 days of Lunar New Year

According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, during 7 days of Lunar New Year 2018, (from 14th to 20th February), 108 Customs branches and equivalent units in the country had import and export activities with 5,100 registered declarations by 617 businesses, a decrease of 12.4% compared to the same period in 2017.
Also, during the same period, the General Department of Vietnam Customs said that total import and export turnover reached US$ 893 million, a sharp increase of 47% compared to the previous year. Of which, export turnover was US$ 289 million, an increase of nearly 50% and import turnover was US$ 604 million, an increase of 45.7%.

The main export items were computers, mobile phones, electronic products and parts (including 2 categories of computers, electronic products and parts; mobile phones and parts) with export turnover of US$ 243 million, accounting for 843% of the country’s total export turnover during the Lunar New Year 2018.
The main import items included; computers, mobile phones, electronic products and spare parts with an import turnover of US$ 354 million; petroleum products with an import turnover of US$ 74 million , machinery, equipment, tools and accessories with an import turnover of US$ 56 million.
