Chilli sauce not included in the list of Customs import and export statistics

Due to the huge number of export items, up to hundreds of thousands of items, the Customs authority only selects and periodically announces statistics for over 40 major commodity groups.
In the latest statistics on goods exported in the first half of March, 45 commodity groups were announced, including phones; textile and garments; computers, electronic products and components; fishery products; fruit and vegetables; rice; coffee; suitcases, bags, hats, umbrellas.
The number of these export commodity groups is similar to that of total exports in 2018 (45 commodity groups).
The announcement for import and export markets is similar.
For the commodity groups that are less popular or include low turnover, the Customs authority will report detailed statistics to competent authorities or when requested by management agencies.
Until the end of February, total export turnover to Japan reached US$2.94 billion, up by 9% compared to 2018, equivalent to an increase of US$245 million.
Currently, Japan is one of the most important trading partners and also the export market for most of the major commodity groups of Vietnam.
In the list announced by the Customs authority, until the end of February 2019, chilli sauce was not included in 40 major commodity groups exported to Japan.
Major commodity groups exported to Japan in the first two months of 2019 includetextile and garment,reachingUS$578 million, up 7.8%; means of transport and spare parts reaching US$408 million, up nearly 12%; machinery, equipment, tools and instruments reaching US$285 million, up 10.5%.
