Cars imported from Indonesia are worth less than 300 million VND

The latest statistics of the General Department of Customs show thatin the first 15 days of November, Vietnam spent 109.4 million USD on importing 5,323 cars.

In particular, there are 3,839 cars with 9 seats or fewer,with a total turnover of 69.75 million USD

From the beginning of the year to the end of November 15, Vietnam imported 127,661 cars with a total turnover of over 2.8 billion USD.

Cars with 9 or fewer seats still account for an overwhelming number of 94,559 vehicles, accounting for more than 74% of imported cars. The second most popular model is the truck with 27,497 vehicles.

In terms of markets, Thailand and Indonesia are still the leading countries in terms of output.

Notably, in October, the number of imported cars from Indonesia surpassed Thailand.

Specifically, in October, Vietnam imported 8,019 cars from the "island nation" with a total turnover of more than 100 million USD accounting for 48% of Vietnam’s total imported cars in October.

While the result of imported cars from Thailand in the past month was only 6,761 cars, with total turnover of 134.33 million USD.

However, accumulated from the beginning of the year to the end of October, Thailand is still the largest import market of whole cars of Vietnam with 68,957 cars, total turnover of over 1.39 billion USD.

And the Indonesian market provides 39,911 vehicles, totaling nearly 545.7 million USD

In October, imported cars from Indonesia were mainly cars (cars with less than 9 seats) with an average value of only 12,336 USD / car (excluding tax) equivalent to more than VND 280 million / vehicle

While the average value of cars under 9 seats imported from Thailand in the past month was about 14,813 USD / car, equivalent to more than 340 million VND / car.

Regarding the Chinese market, in October, Vietnam imported 414 complete units from China with a total turnover of nearly 8.5 million USD.

However, vehicles imported from China last month were mainly specialized vehiclessuch as concrete mixers, tractors and cranes, etc.
