Border Guard Forces seized and handled 960 drug cases in the first half of 2016

VCN- According to a report from the Steering Board 1389 under the High Command of Border Guard, in the first 6 months of 2016, the national border guard forces have detected, seized and settled 960 cases / 974 drug crimes.

Lang Son Border Guard Force arrested a violator with 14 packs of heroin on July 9th 2016.

Representatives of High Command of Border Guard informed, in this period, national border forces had cooperated closely with Police, Customs, Coast Guard and local authorities to actively prevent and fight against drugs crime.

Base on statistics database in the first 6 months, the Border Guard Forces have detected, seized and treated 6079 cases / 18 154 violators of illegal trading and transporting banned goods. Especially, there are 960 cases / 974 drug crimes; seized 559.42 kg of drugs of all kinds, including 440 packs of heroin, 120.7 kg of opium, over 12 kg of marijuana, collected 23 guns and many weapons such as grenades, mines ...

Particularly, in the month of actions against drugs (from 1st to 30th of June), enforcement units coordinated, arrested and settled 159 cases / 212 violators. Especially, the Border Guard Forces independently seized 138 cases / 177 violators; in coordination with the police forces and customs: 16 cases / 28 violators; coordinated with Laos' functional forces to seize 5 cases / 7 violators.

In summary, seized swags included 13.35 kg of heroin (appx 39 packs); 43.693 kg and 25 473 pills of synthetic drugs; 43.62 kg of opium, 1 kg of poppy seeds; 0.8 kg of marihuana; 0.177 grams of American marihuana; 3 kg of additive; 7 guns; 1 grenade, 46 bullets and many other proofs.
