With its advantage as Vietnam's largest deep-water port, the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex has made impressive strides in recent times. This is evident in the continuous growth of the number of container ships and vessel sizes calling at the port. Accompanying this is an increase in cargo volume through the ports here. Cai Mep - Thi Vai has risen strongly on the regional and global port map. Recently, the consulting firm Alphaliner (a leading global maritime research organization) announced that the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex has entered the top 30 largest container ports in the world, based on throughput.
However, the growth of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex is assessed as still not commensurate with its potential, advantages, especially its special position.
To clearly identify the current situation and prospects of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex, at 2 pm on July 31st, at the People's Committee Hall of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, Customs Magazine, in collaboration with Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department and the Department of Transport of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, organized a seminar on the topic: "Customs and enterprises collaborate to promote the flow of import and export goods through the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex". At the same time recording the exchange of opinions of management authorities, experts, and businesses to contribute to improving the port service ecosystem in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area, contributing to the development of this area in accordance with the potential, advantages, and expectations of the Government.
Accordingly, the guests at the workshop will discuss inadequacies and limitations related to the logistics infrastructure connecting the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port complex with neighboring localities; the competitiveness and cooperation of logistics enterprises in the region; factors that hinder businesses' decisions in choosing services in the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area... Based on this reality, opinions will be raised on viewpoints, proposing orientations and solutions for the development of Cai Mep - Thi Vai in the future.
