Vietnam Customs is honored and proud to be trusted by the WCO to be the host of the 2023 Technology Conference and Exhibition. This demonstrates the pioneering, positive, and responsible role of Vietnamese customs authorities in WCO multilateral and bilateral cooperation; affirming the role of Vietnam Customs as a member unit that always complies with WCO regulations, actively contributing to many important forums.

On behalf of Vietnam Customs, Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Tho thanked Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, WCO Secretary General; Mr. Edward Kieswetter, Chairman of the WCO Council, WCO leaders, and leaders of Customs agencies of other countries have given Vietnam Customs the opportunity to affirm the role of Customs agencies in the region and the world.

Vietnam Customs will stick and cooperate closely with the WCO in all activities and look forward to receiving many shares and experiences from the WCO as well as the Customs agencies of member countries to promote further development in the coming time, Deputy Director General Nguyen Van Tho emphasized.

In particular, the 2023 WCO Technology Conference and Exhibition ended successfully with many unexpected results. Vietnam Customs wishes the delegates a truly meaningful day in Vietnam. Vietnam Customs hopes that delegates will have tours and experiences to learn more deeply about the landscapes, monuments, and unique culture, art, and people of Vietnam.

Responding to the leaders of Vietnam Customs, Mr. Hans Pieters said that for special reasons, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, Secretary General of the WCO, and Mr. Edward Kieswetter, Chairman of the WCO Council, had to leave Vietnam earlier than planned.

However, on behalf of the WCO, Mr. Hans Pieters thanked Vietnam Customs for their efforts and coordination with the WCO in organizing this event.

The fact that the WCO chose Vietnam to organize this event is very understandable, because according to Mr. Hans Pieters, all organizations and businesses when asked said that Vietnam is the most potential economic region, and is developing the most rapidly, and strongly. Therefore, holding an event in a beautiful country like Vietnam is the first priority.

Regarding the organization of the 2023 Technology Conference and Exhibition, Mr. Hans Pieters highly appreciated the role of Vietnam Customs in organizing the event. In particular, Vietnam Customs has mobilized many human resources to participate in organizing this event with thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. WCO would like to thank each officer, civil servant of Vietnam Customs, and related individuals for working hard to make today's event a success. In particular, the artistic performances that Vietnam Customs brought to the conference helped delegates enjoy a rich Asian-culture atmosphere in a hospitable country.
