The trend of greening commercial activities and logistics gradually creates higher standards.

Mr Nguyen Tuan said that in 2023, the logistics industry will face the consequences due to the influence of inflation pressure and the risk of economic recession of major economies, broken global supply chains, etc., which strongly impact the import and export situation and logistics activities. Besides the trend of greening trade activities, greening logistics... is gradually becoming indispensable, creating higher standards and adding more costs for trade and logistics activities.

Green logistics is an important link to "green" the supply chain towards a sustainable development roadmap. In the context that consumers increasingly prefer environmentally friendly products and the trend of transition to a green economy is taking place globally, green logistics is also increasingly interesting and professionally invested by businesses.

For the food industry in Vietnam, Mr Tuan assessed, green logistics plays an important role in ensuring the efficient and sustainable transportation of food products while minimizing negative impacts on the environment. The "greening" of the logistics industry and application of green logistics as well as a variety of "greening" logistics solutions in such aspects as green transportation, green packaging, green warehousing, and green logistics data management.. .. business, will help businesses meet environmental criteria, improve competitiveness and sustainable growth...

Resolution No. 163/NQ-CP, dated December 16, 2022, the Government stated that the goal is to turn logistics services into a high-value service industry and link the development of logistics with local trade, and international production of goods and infrastructure for transportation. Along with that, strengthen connectivity to make Vietnam an important regional logistics centre; develop logistics associated with a sustainable supply chain... Therefore, businesses need to prepare response scenarios, find new steps for the problem of decreasing orders from experience and tolerance, and adapt to develop in the current period of economic recovery.

However, Mr Ton That Tu, an international consultant, pointed out that fragmentation with many small and medium enterprises operating independently is a major limitation that makes Vietnam's logistics industry lack coordination and standardization in logistics services, leading to inefficiencies and increased costs. The fragmentation of the logistics industry in Vietnam requires more coordination and integration among logistics service providers. This may involve developing logistics centres or networks to help logistics service providers improve efficiency, standardization and bargaining power and contribute to the development of the industry as a whole.

In addition, although Vietnam has invested significantly in infrastructure development, there are areas where infrastructure is inadequate or needs improvement. For example, the road and rail networks in some areas may not be sufficient to meet the needs of the growing logistics industry.

According to Mr Tu, if the problem of logistics infrastructure in Vietnam is solved, logistics service providers can take advantage of the country's potential and improve competitiveness. Thereby bringing benefits to logistics service providers, and helping to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises in other fields, because an efficient and modern logistics system can help speed up the production process, transportation, and distribution of goods in supply chains.

In addition, comments at the workshop also suggested that the Government should improve the investment environment and facilitate licensing activities for investment enterprises. Especially increasing investment in improving transport infrastructure such as roads, railways, airports and ports to facilitate the movement of goods across the country and increase operational capacity. export.
