According to HCM Customs Department, as of May 10, total import and export turnover across ports of HCM City decreased by 22.29% year-on-year to US$ 39.17 billion.

The import turnover declined by 24.72% to US$21.14 billion; export turnover decreased by 19.25% to US$ 18.03 billion compared with the previous year.

As of May 10, the trade balance for import-export goods through customs procedures at HCM City Customs Department had a trade deficit of US$3.11 billion.

The plunge in import-export goods caused a decrease in revenue for HCM City Customs Department in May. As of May 10, the revenue went down 4.94% year-on-year to VND 45,573.6 billion, meeting 31.26% of the target.
