Allowed to export sticky rice on market demand in April

Accordingly, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requested provincial Customs departments to base on the conclusions of the Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung in Notification No.163/TB-VPCP dated April 21, 2020 and Official Letter 2824/BCT- XNK dated April 22, 2020 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to direct customs branches to carry out customs procedures and clearance procedures for export shipments of sticky rice in accordance with Decree 107/2018/ND-CP on exporting rice.
Previously, in Notification No. 163/TB-VPCP of April 21, 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung agreed with the proposals of the ministries including Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Finance on allowing exports of sticky rice based on market demand in April 2020, not subject to regulations of management mechanism of exporting rice in Document No. 2827/VPCP- KTTH dated 10/4/2020.
The Deputy PM requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to check domestic output and demand for sticky rice, forcast the amount of sticky rice to be exported in the future, and send it to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to report to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in April 2020.
Following directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Official Letter 2824/BCT-XNK dated April 22, 2020 guiding exports of sticky rice in April 2020 complying with market demand, not subject to regulations of management mechanisms of exporting rice in Document No. 2827/VPCP- KTTH, not included in the export quota of rice in April 2020.
