It is known that since March 1, 2017, implementing the Government's Resolution No. 36a / NQ-CP dated October 14, 2015 on e-Government, the General Department of Vietnam Customs extended the provision of online public services for administrative procedures in the Customs sector on the electronic information Portal at http://pus.customs.gov.vn.

It can be seen that the use of online public services has contributed to reduce paper, shorten time and reduce the cost of implementing administrative procedures for businesses, concurrently improved the quality and efficiency of the operation of the Customs authority, and supported people and businesses to get better and better.

Along with application of information technology in management, from March 15, 2017, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has officially provided e-customs declaration information for relevant agencies (According to Decision No. 771/QD-TCHQ dated March 14, 2017 announcing the telephone number and e-mail address for supplying electronic Customs declaration information).

At the same time, the General Department of Vietnam Customs set up the management system for processed goods, export production and the Customs management and supervision system at seaports and airports. Currently, the General Department of Vietnam Customs is coordinating with Hai Phong Customs Department and relevant units to build the software and draft messages on exchange information between enterprises and Customs (It is expected to be officially implemented in June, 2017).

Along with that, the General Department of Vietnam Customs has also continued to deploy and build other information technology systems such as: The support information system for operational decision issue for the first phase; The prior support information system for VNACCS/VCIS systems to meet the requirements on the time of announcing the results of channel classification for exported goods; and to upgrade the risk management system for deployment of VNACCS/VCIS projects, in which focusing on building the channel classification function according to 5 criteria versions; and The inventory system for import-export goods to connect with VNACCS/VCIS systems.
