It was stressed by the Deputy Minister of Finance, Vu Thi Mai at the Dialogue Conference for administrative procedure on tax and Customs in 2016 on 28 November, 2016 in Hanoi held by the Ministry of Finance and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to confirm that the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Customs and the General Department of Taxation are always companions of businesses, and always listen to the opinions of businesses to help businesses survive and develop together.

Accordingly, in the first ten months of 2016, the National Single Window was officially connected to 10 of 14 Ministries and Departments with 33 administrative procedures and total records handled on the Customs Portal of more than 165,000 records of over 7,000 businesses.

The Customs Authorities have applied the modernization of container screenings, electronic tax declarations to reduce clearance time from 21 days to 14 days for exports, and 13 days for imports.

Deputy Minister Vu Thi Mai also said that, until now, the General Department of Taxation has canceled 32 administrative procedures and simplified 40 administrative procedures, and continued to review amend and supplement procedures and regulations on tax management t. The managing authorities have issued a Decision to amend and supplement 51 of 70 procedures and regulations, and expand the online tax declaration system. Until now, the electronic tax declaration system has been deployed in 63 of 63 provinces and cities, and drawn attendance of over 546,000 businesses.

The General Department of Taxation signed agreements with 41 commercial banks to deploy the e-tax payment in the 63 localities to cut down 420 hours for tax payment. The time of tax payment declined from 537 hours per year to 117 hours per year.

With the above efforts, as assessment result of the Business Environment Report in 2016 by the World Bank showed that: Vietnam’s tax and social insurance payment index has increased 11 ranks from 178 to rank of 167 among 189 countries in assessment, Deputy Minister Vu Thi Mai stressed.
