The above information was revealed by Mr. Dam Thanh The – Head of Permanent Office of the National Steering Committee 389 in a press conference on fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2016, and key tasks for 2017, held by the Permanent Office of the National Steering Committee 389 last weekend.

According to Mr. The, this was one of the typical cases which were destroyed due to information sent from people to the Permanent Office (via letter).

“After receiving the information, the Permanent Office reported to the National Steering Committee 389 and concurrently collaborated with the Hanoi National Steering Committee 389 to organize the fight and successfully destroy the chains and group producing counterfeited supplementary foods with large scale. Now, the authorized forces seized 5 offenders and a lot of related exhibits” the Head of Permanent Office of the National Steering Committee 389 said.

Relating to this case, in August of 2016, the Economic Security force (Division PA81, Hanoi Public Security) collaborated with the Hanoi Market Management Sub-department and inspected 6 manufacturing and business places of the SLIM HMN Vietnam Trading Company Limited (headquartered in Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city).

At warehouses of the SLIM HMN Vietnam Trading Company Limited in Tam Hiep commune, Thanh Tri district, the authorized force discovered a lorry being loaded goods for consumption.

Additionally, there were many parcels of finished products with nearly 20 supplementary food kinds together with thousands of labels with information on products which mainly originated from USA, Germany, Australia, Korea and Japan.

Inspecting another warehouse of the Company in Van Phu urban area (Ha Dong district, Hanoi) the authorized force detected thousands of empty parcels and packages, membranes, and labeling and canning tools.

According to the test results of the National Institute for Food Control, all 14 of 14 samples of supplementary foods of SLIM HMN Vietnam Trading Co., Ltd were not qualified.
